A prayer for God to bless, protect, and use your Vacation Bible School to help your church connect with new families.
Please pray aloud:
Heavenly Father, I pray for the Vacation Bible School at my church!
First, God, thank you for the tireless volunteers who spent time organizing and planning. Thank you for their creativity, their heart to serve, their love for your children, and their joy. Thank you for the way they take time off all week to serve. Bless them in a very real way for being a real blessing to us.
But I ask that you would do something awesome in the lives of the kids through this VBS!
Use the music and skits and games and costumes and décor to create an environment where kids can connect with you in a deep and meaningful way. Let them feel safe, loved, and known. In their laughter and joy, give them an even deeper sense that they belong and this church is their home.

Use your Word to awaken faith within our children. Your Scripture is everywhere this week—in the songs, the teaching times, the devotions, and on the decorations—let every exposure to your living Word awaken a hunger and thirst in them to know Jesus better than they do.
Send your Holy Spirit and your holy angels to guard and protect our campus from any harm and danger. Keep everyone safe and prevent any accidents or injury. In the same way, help all of the details and logistics of the week run smoothly. From snacks to technology to pick-up and drop-off times, take away everyone’s stress and confusion so there isn’t any distraction from what you’re doing among us, God.
Finally, God, if there are any families who came this week who do not have a church home, move them to respond to our invitation and come back this Sunday. And when they gather with us in worship, give them that same sense of belonging, that same sense of leading. Draw them to you, as you promise in your Word, that we may rejoice together when they join our family of faith. Make baptisms happen because of our VBS this year!
