In this prayer from our series through the phrases “of the Lord”, you’ll pray for your church to experience the hand of the Lord.

Quick Prayer

Please pray aloud:
Heavenly Father, place your hand on my church. Not your hand of wrath or vengeance, God. Your hand of deliverance, your hand of guidance, your hand of blessing. That all the peoples of the earth may know your hand is mighty, and that we may fear you all of our days.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Full Prayer

Please pray aloud:
Heavenly Father, place your hand on my church.

Not your hand of wrath or vengeance, God. Your Word shows us that no nation, no king, and no man can withstand your heavy hand. No, God, I ask for your hand of favor for my church. Your hand of blessing and power.

Place your hand on us to deliver us.
Your right hand that protects us from all harm and danger. Your hand that thwarts all the schemes and efforts of the wicked. Your hand with the power to hold the seas and form the dry land. Your hand that is mighty to save.

…I ask for your hand of favor for my church.
—Pray for Your Church

Place your hand on us to guide us.
As your hand guided prophets like Ezekiel or servants like Zechariah, lead and direct us with your hand, Father. Show us where—and when—you want us to go with your hand. Like your hand came upon Elisha before he prophesied, let your hand give us your divine wisdom and direction. That we may walk with confidence where you lead our ministry.

Place your hand on us to bless us.
Just like the early church enjoyed your favor because your hand was with them, favor us, O God. Bless us with a good measure we cannot contain. Like Ezra found favor with the king because of your hand, let us know the favor of all people, and even the favor of our local governing officials and our neighborhood. That we may know a time of peace and refreshing and rest from all sides.

May we know your hand, God. Not in a vague or conceptual sense, but let us know your supernatural hand in a very real and tangible way. That all the peoples of the earth may know your hand is mighty, and that we may fear you all of our days.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
