There are a lot of leaders with knowledge, but wise leaders are rare. Use this prayer to help the leaders in your church lead with wisdom.
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud: Only wise God, you have promised in your Word that if any of us lacks wisdom, you will give it without restriction. So Lord, just as I ask for wisdom for myself, I ask that you would give wisdom to my leaders. From our finances to our teams to our ministries to their schedule—make them wise!
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Full Prayer
Please pray aloud: Only wise God, make the leaders of my church wise!
You have promised in your Word that if any of us lacks wisdom, you will give it without restriction. So Lord, just as I ask for wisdom for myself, I ask that you would give wisdom to my leaders. Give them the wisdom your Word says is more precious than gold or rubies, the wisdom that is too deep to be quarried, the wisdom that is like the garland of a champion. Give them the wisdom that you promised would protect, prosper, and give us life.
Make them wise in how they handle our finances. Help them manage expenses against offerings, or find the balance between stewardship and generosity.
Make them wise in how they lead our teams. As they train, equip, and sometimes correct people, show them what’s wise. Or as they try to manage personalities and opinions, give them discernment.
Make them wise in how they oversee our ministries and activities. Show them which ministries to revitalize, which ones to realign, and which ones to end. Give them the courage to act on what you show them.

Make them wise in how they govern their schedule. For everything and everyone demanding more of their time, help them prioritize their day, their week, their month, their year, according to the goals and callings you have given them, God. Like dross from silver, remove the things that distract them or make them less effective as leaders.
For every area of ministry, and in every area of their life, teach them to fear you, that wisdom may come.
