Few things matter more to a church than the faith of its leaders. Use this prayer to nourish and develop the spiritual health of the leaders in your church.
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud: Gracious God, I lift up the faith of the leaders in my church.
Move them to personal time in prayer and in your Word, that their faith may flourish like a tree planted by a stream. Give them a strong faith, a great faith, a fruitful faith, and a growing faith. Increase our faith!
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Full Prayer
Please pray aloud: Gracious God, I lift up the faith of the leaders in my church.
Few things can affect the health and future of a church more than the faith of its leaders. If the shepherds are weak, the flock will suffer. If the shepherds are strong, the flock will flourish.
When faith was weak, your Son was unable to work wonders among the people. When faith was little, your disciples could not cast out demons. When faith was unfruitful, the owner of the vineyard cut down the tree. When faith was dying in the rocky soil, the plant shriveled. So just as the Apostles asked your Son, I ask you now, “Increase our faith!”
Move my leaders to personal time in prayer and in your Word. Then, as they come to you, as they know the sweet communion of your Holy Spirit, let their faith flourish like a tree planted by a stream:
Give them a strong faith to endure hardship with joy. A faith that has peace even in trial or persecution.
If the shepherds are weak, the flock will suffer. If the shepherds are strong, the flock will flourish.

Give them a great faith to believe that you can do the impossible. A faith that asks you to move mountains and give sight to the blind, without wavering or doubting.
Give them a fruitful faith that bears fruit in keeping with repentance. That brings glory to your name. That pursues holiness so they may be without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, shining as your light in the world.
Give them a growing faith that grows “more and more”. That dives deep into the truth of your Word, discovering who you are, what you’ve done. That believes what you can do with ever increasing measure.
Increase our faith!
