Use this prayer to help your church grow by reaching new people, reaching more people, and reaching different people.
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud: Gracious Lord, please grow our church. Bring those who are looking for a church home, bring those who are unbelieving, and bring those who haven’t been to a church in a while. And if there’s something we can do to grow, would you show us God?
Not for our glory, but for yours. Not for our name, but for yours. Not for our kingdom, but for yours. Build your church!
Your Word tells us you build your Church. Your Word tells us you draw all mankind to you. Your Word says that you want every seat in your banquet filled. If you want to save as many as possible, who are we to be content with a plateaued growth or a slow decline?
Bring those who are looking for a church home. Whether it’s people who drive by the church on their commute or people who were invited by their friends, bring them, Lord. If someone is new to town, bring them. If anyone searches online for a church, draw their eyes to us. Regardless of the reason they stopped going to a church, grant that this Sunday would be the Sunday they try our house of worship.

Bring those who are unbelieving. Bring their questions, their confusion, and their doubt. Help us welcome them and give them space to process their resistance, so that they may have a faith-giving encounter with You. Your Word says no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit, so just as they come through our doors, move in their hearts by your Spirit and give faith, God.
Bring those who haven’t been to a church in a while. Stir in their hearts with a longing to return to your house with your people receiving your gifts. Awaken in them a deep hunger and thirst for your righteousness, Father. Whatever the reason may be that made them drift from fellowship, God, remove it now.
Finally, if there’s something we can do to grow, would you show us God? If we can make ourselves more accessible or more relatable, show us. If we can improve our physical or online presence, show us. If we can be more invitational or more welcoming or have better follow up system, show us. And then, as you show us, give us the courage and dedication to follow through.
Not for our glory, but for yours. Not for our name, but for yours. Not for our kingdom, but for yours. Build your church!
