Heavenly Father, the week after Easter can be a hard one for the tired church workers of our church. So come by your Holy Spirit, even now, and refresh the leaders of my church, Lord.

Heavenly Father, the week after Easter can be a hard one for the tired church workers of our church. After all extra energy and extra planning needed for extra services and extra events, there is a very real emotional, physical, and mental let down in the slower pace in the week after.
Let them know it’s okay to be tired, and that it’s okay to rest. Even great athletes, or maybe especially great athletes, need to rest after an event so they can run the race before them. Show them God that this is a marathon, and not a sprint, and that you need them to have a vision for the long term. Remind them that this is your church and you will take care of it as they rest.
Come by your Holy Spirit and refresh the leaders of my church, Lord. Let them know the refreshing that comes in the shadow of your wings. As your Word declares, renew their strength as they wait for you, God. Let them mount up with wings like eagles. Let them not grow weary as they run or faint as they walk. Use this week and this day and this hour to restore for the leaders of my church, O God.

Remove any depression or disappointment or discouragement they may be feeling. Protect them from any attacks of the evil one as they are revived. Let them find the solitude they need, the companionship they need, the pace they need, so they can look forward to the next season of ministry with hope. With joy. With fervor.
Where they are tired, strengthen them with your presence. Where they are wounded, heal them with your Word. Where they are discouraged, encourage them with your Holy Spirit. As your prophet Elijah encountered you in the stillness, let the workers of my church commune with you in the quiet of this week.
Restore to them the joy of your salvation, and uphold them with a willing spirit.
