There’s a spiritual war being fought and church leaders are on the front lines. Use this prayer to protect them from the evil one.
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud: Mighty God, I come to you now asking you to protect the leaders of my church from the evil one. Just as you protect me, surround our leaders with your mighty angels and your Holy Spirit to stand guard and repel any attack from the evil one.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Full Prayer
Please pray aloud: Mighty God, your Word says the sheep scatter when the shepherd is struck. Does not the flock flourish when the shepherd is secure? So, I come to you now, asking you to protect the leaders of my church from the evil one.
My limited human mind cannot fully understand spiritual warfare, God. But your Word tells me there is a very real battle in the unseen realm between your kingdom and the kingdom of darkness. And your Word tells me that just as I am a part of this fight, our leaders are on the front line of this fight. So Father, for both their sake and for the sake of this church, just as you protect me, will you please protect our leaders from the evil one?
Right now, in this very moment, surround our leaders with your mighty angels to stand guard and repel any attack from the evil one. Equip our leaders with your full armor, God, that when the attacks against them come, they may stand firm. Equip them with the belt of truth, with the breastplate of righteousness, with feet readied with the good news of Jesus, with the shield of faith to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one, with the helmet of salvation, and with the sword of your Word and Spirit.
Does not the flock flourish when the shepherd is secure?

Remind the leaders of my church of the promises of your Word— that you are with them and you are greater than the one who is against them. That their struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. That no weapon formed against them will prosper. That they are victors in Christ, our Champion. That they are overcomers in Christ, the Conqueror.
Protect every part of my leaders’ lives. Protect their family. Their house. Their health. Their finances. Their sexuality. Their humility. Their relationships. Their emotions. Their energy. Their habits. Their devotional life. Do not let the enemy gain a foothold or establish a beachhead in any part of their lives. Thwart the devil’s schemes.
Finally, as you cast out the forces of darkness from every area of their lives, replace those spaces with the light and power and fellowship of your Holy Spirit, that the strongman may not return.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
