Use this prayer to refresh and equip the hardworking staff and volunteers at your church for the work God has called them to do.
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud: Gracious King, I come to you now asking you to refresh the workers at my church. Staff or volunteer, help the servants at my church soar on wings like eagles, to run and not grow weary, to walk and not grow faint.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please pray aloud: Gracious King, I come to you now asking you to refresh the workers at my church.
Staff or volunteer, there are people who have served for years in my church. Regardless of their schedule, their energy, or their emotion, they’ve served you faithfully. But even the hardest worker can become tired, Lord!
After every Sunday planned is another Sunday to plan. After every youth event held is another youth event to hold. One care visit leads to another. Over time, the relentless rhythm of responsibilities can become rote. Special events can change from novelty to burden. Fatigue or burnout quickly follow. Jesus asked us to pray for more workers in the harvest, but I also pray for the workers already in the harvest.
May those who distribute your living water never go thirsty themselves.

Do as you promise in your Word—give strength to the weary, give power to the weak. Help the servants at my church soar on wings like eagles, to run and not grow weary, to walk and not grow faint. Gratify them in the way they best receive it, whether it’s a word of encouragement, or a gift to say thanks, or a success in ministry. Not to end their service, but to sustain it.
On a practical level, help them delegate tasks and streamline the work wherever possible. Help them focus on what’s essential, and to recognize when they’re doing extra work. Remind them of the mission of the church, and to see their role in it. Give the small wins in ministry to refresh them, like a cool breeze or cloud cover refreshes servants in the field.
But most of all, give these servants time with you, Father. Help them withdraw from the work and dwell in your presence and find some rest. May those who distribute your living water never go thirsty themselves.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
