Use this prayer to bless, guide, and protect the Youth Ministry volunteers in your church as they bring the gospel to teenagers.
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud: Righteous Father, I come to you now praying for the Youth Ministry volunteers of my church.
Bless them with a very real blessing for their willingness to play embarrassing games, to endure caffeinated nights, and have awkward conversations with awkward and pubescent youth. May we see teenagers baptized in my church because of the good and faithful service provided by our Youth Ministry volunteers!
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please pray aloud:
Righteous Father, I come to you now praying for the Youth Ministry volunteers of my church.
God, these are the volunteers who are willing to get into the literal and figurative mess of Youth Ministry. Bless them with a very real blessing for their willingness to play embarrassing games, to endure caffeinated nights, and have awkward conversations with awkward and pubescent youth. I don’t mean to be irreverent or dismissive, Lord, because underneath the slime and sweat of Youth Ministry are very real faith relationships being formed between teens and adults. Bless these workers in your harvest, O God!
As they plan games and music and events to keep kids engaged, give them an awareness of how their service fits into the overall mission and vision of the ministry. Help my church do what we need to do in order to make these great volunteers feel appreciated. And bring new workers into this ministry, that a time of refreshing may come. Give them a joy in the knowledge that theirs is no less a holy calling than any other calling in the church.
As they talk with kids, give them the words to say and actions to make to help our youth understand who they are, who you are, and your plans for their lives. No matter how hard or how lighthearted the issue may be, let their message be your message for our youth, that they may live their life according to your Word.
Give our Youth Ministry volunteers a fluency for youth lingo and culture, so they can connect with our teens and our teens can connect with you. Even more, give our Youth Ministry volunteers a supernatural understanding of the various stages of cognitive development, from the youngest Middle Schooler to the oldest High Schooler, from the overconfident athlete to the sullen artist, so they can interact with them in a way appropriate to their maturity and their personality. Let this understanding help them help our youth navigate the social media, the music, and the movies of their times in a way that honors you.
May we see teenagers baptized because of the good and faithful work of the service provided by our Youth Ministry volunteers!

If our Youth Ministry workers are tired, strengthen them. If they’re anxious, comfort them. If they’re feeling inadequate, encourage them. All so that we may see salvation come to dozens—even hundreds—of teens in my church! Yes, God. May we see teenagers baptized in my church because of the good and faithful service provided by our Youth Ministry volunteers!
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
