Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud:
Heavenly Father, Scripture teaches that you are the God Who Sees and there is nowhere we can flee from your presence. So stir in us, all–seeing and ever–present Holy Spirit, to see the people around us, that no one in our community feels unseen.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please pray aloud:
Heavenly Father, Scripture teaches that you saw Hagar suffering in the desert, and she named you the God Who Sees. And when your Son walked among us, he continually saw the overlooked beggars and unseen outcasts. Your Word declares there is no secret place where we can hide from you, and that we cannot flee from your presence.
So stir in us, all–seeing and ever–present Holy Spirit, to see the people around us, as well.
When a new person comes into our church for the first time, quiet and apprehensive, help us to notice them. Help our regular members and leaders stop their conversations with their familiar friends—abruptly even—to take the initiative to introduce themselves the newcomer.
Give us your eyes so no one in our midst feels unseen.

And Lord, when we talk with one another on a Sunday morning, give us an awareness to to see if there’s a hurt beneath the veneer of their smiles and pleasantries. Give us the intuition to notice the nonverbal cues or the tone of their voice, to inquire deeper and offer care, that healing might happen.
Scriptures says your eyes are everywhere, Lord. Give us your eyes so no one in our midst feels unseen.
And when we are going about our week, make us observant to the people around us we can encourage, or witness to, or help. Peel away the blinders of our own agenda and the veil of our own needs to really see. At the restaurant, the gas station, in the neighborhood, or even in the neglected and overlooked parts of our community, help us to see!
We want to be your hands and feet and mouthpiece, O God, so first give us your eyes to see! And then, O God, give us a boldness to step on our pride and step forward to be your agents of mercy.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
You are the God who sees me.
