These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go to the house of God… Psalm 42:4
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud:
Father in heaven, ready my church for Sunday! Create in us a hunger and thirst to be in your presence, at your house, with your people, receiving your gifts. If any have been away for a while, or if any are debating whether to wake up and come to church, bring to mind the joy they once had going to your house, raising shouts of joy and praise among the festive throng.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Prompt us with your Spirit until every seat at your banquet this Sunday is filled, Master!
Give us great expectations for what you can do this Sunday!

Then, as we gather, fulfill your promise to be with us.
Make our fellowship sweet, with smiles sincere and kind.
Make our singing genuine, with voices loud and unrestrained.
Make our giving lavish, with hearts cheerful and free.
Make our confession thoughtful, our repentance complete, and our prayers focused.
Forgive our small–mindedness and inattention, God. Why should any encounter with you be routine? Who can behold your glory and not be awestruck? Make our hearts burn within us in your presence. Give us great expectations for what you can do this Sunday!
Finally, let your Word be living and active when it’s preached, sharp and dividing every soul and spirit. Strengthen the faith of those who believe. Give faith to those yet to believe. Comfort the broken. Break the comfortable. Let the gospel of what you’ve done be so clearly proclaimed that everyone leaves the church different than when they came.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
