Use this prayer for Pastor’s Appreciation Month to guide, bless, and protect the pastors in your church as they serve.

Quick Prayer

Please pray aloud:
Lord, I come to you now praying for the pastor at my church. I praise you for this man after your own heart who has dedicated their life to your faithful service! When the work of the church is a deep burden, shoulder their heaviness. When the enemy attacks, be their shield and their hedge of protection. As your Word declares, let your energy be at work within them.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Full Prayer

Please pray aloud:
Lord, I come to you now praying for the pastor at my church. I praise you for this man after your own heart who has dedicated their life to your faithful service! What a gift they are to our church and our community!

As my pastor honors you in the work you have ordained, let your name be praised in all that they do. Daily, in ways unseen by the congregation—they serve, they bless, they minister, they counsel, they plan, they forgive, they meet, they carry out, they pray, they sacrifice.

Lord, when my pastor has nothing left, let them fall into your strong arms of grace and comfort. When the work of the church is a deep burden, shoulder their heaviness. When your children ask them for more than their capacity, fill the gap. When trials weaken and sap my pastor’s strength, be their provision of heavenly might.

Lord, when my pastor has nothing left, let them fall into your strong arms of grace and comfort.
—Pray for Your Church

When the enemy attacks, be their shield and their hedge of protection. In all and through all, be their faithful guide, their Abba Father, their God who sees them. Remind them that the battle is yours and they need only to be still!

The work is yours and they are your instrument. The words are yours and they are your mouthpiece. The church is your and they are your stewards. As your Word declares, let your energy be at work within them—your energy, your words, your strength, your love, your grace, your mercy, your comfort, your help, your forgiveness, your power, your protection, your peace, and your Spirit.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
