Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud:
Gracious God, hear now my intercession for the middle-aged people in my church. Their lives are busy, God—from work to hobbies to home, there is no end to the things that demand their time and energy. Remind them to make you a priority in their lives and to not relegate you to the margins and afterthoughts of their day. Use their wisdom, their wealth, their strength, and their abilities to bless my church.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Gracious God, hear now my intercession for the middle-aged people in my church.
Thank you for these adults who stand as a bridge between the generations. Their lives are busy, God—from work to hobbies to home, there is no end to the things that demand their time and energy. Remind them to make you a priority in their lives and to not relegate you to the margins and afterthoughts of their day.
Their lives are maturing, Lord. Many of them have maturing kids, maturing marriages, and maturing 401Ks. But with that maturity can come thoughts of missed opportunities, or regrets over choices made. Remind them that you can redeem all situations for your good and glory. Fill them with a hope and joy for the future, not in trivial opportunities and accomplishments, but in your plan for their life, God. Just as you told a middle-aged Joshua before entering the Promised Land, remind the middle-agers in my church to be strong and courageous, to not be frightened, and to not be dismayed, because you are with them wherever you go.
Teach the mid-lifers in my church to number their days, that they may gain a heart of wisdom.

Teach the mid-lifers in my church to number their days, that they may gain a heart of wisdom. As they look to the horizon of their past and their future, give them a keen awareness of eternity, God. Of heaven and hell. Of your return. Move by your Holy Spirit and give them a passion to advance your kingdom, to make you famous, God, and to fill every seat in your banquet, Master.
Use their wisdom, their wealth, their strength, and their abilities to bless my church, God. Compel them with your Word to serve you with whatever gift they have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of your grace in its various forms. And to serve with a glad heart, without grumbling or gossip.
