Use this prayer for hospitality to help your Greeters and improve the guest experience at your church this Sunday.
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud: God of All Comfort, I come to you now to pray for the hospitality at my church. Give our Greeters eyes of compassion as they serve this Sunday. As they welcome the regulars who are confident, sure, and comfortable, help them to also welcome the first–timers who are nervous, unsure, or uncomfortable. Don’t let anyone pass by our front doors without catching an infectious joy to be in your house, O Lord.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Has not your Son taught us that we welcome him when we welcome the stranger? Remind our volunteers to smile, and to offer a friendly first impression, but to not be overbearing. For those who have served as Greeters for years, bless them for their consistency, and don’t let them despise their important role. Remind them that their interaction is an opportunity to set the tone for our encounter with you. Give them a heart for the sweet fellowship that comes only by your Spirit.
How else can we improve the hospitality at our church, Lord? Is it better landscaping? Cleaner floors? Upgraded coffee stations? Help us improve our guest experience, God, so it’s evident to everyone how much we care about you, how much we care about them, and how much of a priority worship is in our lives.
Once we were strangers, Lord, but you have made us your people! Help our Greeters welcome everyone as Christ has welcomes everyone, for your glory, O God.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
