Use this prayer to bless and guide the fathers in your church to follow God’s commands and example as our perfect, heavenly Father.

Quick Prayer

Please pray aloud:
Father in heaven, I come to you now praying for the fathers in my church.

Move the men in my church to fight for their families, to serve and lay down their lives for their wives, and to train their children in your ways. Renew them to give as you do, to have compassion as you do, and to rejoice as you do.

Finally, God, help my church to honor our fathers, that it may go well with us, as your Word promises.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Full Prayer

Please pray aloud:
Father in heaven, I come to you now praying for the fathers in my church.

By grace you gave us your Spirit that cries out Abba, Father, that we may praise you as your children. You are so good, so kind, so loving, Lord. You give men a perfect example of how a father is to love, lead, defend, provide, correct, serve, and forgive those under their care.

Holy Father, I praise you for the men in my church who follow your command to protect, lead, and prosper their family. And for the times they fail to live up to your standard of fatherhood, forgive them. Like Eden after the fall, the statistics prove again and again how the health and stability of a society erodes when fathers are absent and men are disengaged. Forgive us, Lord.

Like Nehemiah rallied the men of Israel to fight for their families, move the men in my church to do the same!
—Pray for Your Church

Like Nehemiah rallied the men of Israel to fight for their families, move the men in my church to do the same!

Renew them to serve and lay down their lives for their wives as Christ has done for his Bride, the Church. Renew them to train their children in your ways and to demonstrate a love for your Word. Renew them to give as you do, to have compassion as you do, and to rejoice as you do.

Finally, Righteous Father, help my church to honor our fathers, that it may go well with us, as your Word promises.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
