Use this prayer from our series of prayers on spiritual warfare to help your church overcome the divisions caused by the evil one.
Quick Prayer
Please pray aloud: Most High King, I come to you now praying against any division Satan is trying to cause in my church. I join my voice with your Son and pray—Holy Father, protect us by the power of your name, the name you gave Christ, so that we may be one as you are one. Bring us to complete unity that the world will know that you sent your Son.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Full Prayer
Please pray aloud: Most High King, I come to you now praying against any division Satan is trying to cause in my church.
From the beginning our Adversary challenged your throne, setting himself against you. He continued his rebellion by bringing enmity between you and mankind, and between Adam and Eve. Today, he continues to crouch in wait, looking for opportunities to cause division among us, Lord. Protect my church, God!
When our church is divided, Lord, your mission suffers. We become distracted and self-focused, wasting energy on evil rather than good. While the lost are perishing all around us, who are we to wage war against one another? Who are we to be consumed by jealousy and dissension? Why should we follow the ways of the world, quarreling and destroying one another?
Specifically, Lord, I call out factions in my church over… take a moment to name the divisions in your church.
Forgive us for our factions, gracious Lord. As we humble ourselves under your mighty hand, teach us to serve and submit to one another, honoring one another above ourselves just as you have commanded.
Come by your Holy Spirit and your holy angels and bind the strong man who opposes us.

Come by your Holy Spirit and your holy angels and bind the strong man who opposes us. Drive out all discord and disunity and replace it with concord and unity. Silence all slander and replace it with your praise. Confuse all gossiping lips and replace it with only what is edifying. Do not let the devil steal any of the glory due your name. We ask this with the authority you gave us to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, that nothing shall hurt us.
I join my voice with your Son and pray—Holy Father, protect us by the power of your name, the name you gave Christ, so that we may be one as you are one. Protect us and keep us safe by that name you gave him that none will be lost… Make us one, Father, just as you are in your Son and your Son is in you. Bring us to complete unity that the world will know that you sent your Son.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
