Gracious Lord, with so many people coming to our church this Christmas, from guests to occasional attenders to regular attenders, my pastor has a tremendous opportunity to preach your gospel! Full Prayer

Please pray aloud:

Gracious Lord, with so many people coming to our church this Christmas, from guests to occasional attenders to regular attenders, my pastor has a tremendous opportunity to preach your gospel!

Protect my pastor from any attacks of the evil one, but especially those which will hinder their preaching. Keep them from sin and temptation that hardens their heart and make them open to your Spirit’s leading. Keep them from sickness and give them energy in body and voice. Keep them from tragedy or conflict and give them a focused mind. Keep them from busyness and give them diligence in both prayer and Scripture.

What do you want to say to the people in our church this Christmas, God? Speak that message to my pastor, and let them hear it clearly, so your purpose is accomplished!
—Pray for Your Church

The Christmas account is so familiar to my pastor, God. Breathe new life into the story during their study. Make your Word come alive, as you have promised, so they find new insights. What do you want to say to the people in our church this Christmas, God? Speak that message to my pastor, and let them hear it clearly, so your purpose is accomplished!

Help my pastor to quickly write their message, and then edit it to make it concise and potent. Remove any content that dilutes or deviates from what you are trying to say. Give them discernment to know when and where they should speak the Law of what we do and the Gospel of what you have done. Give them a supernatural ability to memorize your message, Lord. Give them a fire in their bones to tell the story once again in a way that will be memorable and impactful to all who hear.

Finally, Lord, use my pastor’s sermon to touch the heart of all who gather with us this Christmas, that the doubting believe, that the wayward return, that the hurting rejoice, and the erring repent.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
