Please pray aloud:
Father, a life of faith is a life of submission. We call you Lord, or King, or even Father, not only because you are greater than us, but we have fully surrendered our will to yours.
But we not only submit to you, God, you also call us to submit to our earthly leaders, especially the leaders in your kingdom. From the very beginning you created order and authority, raising up leaders of tribes and nations. In you Church, you established Apostles, deacons, pastors, and overseers. Each one with a distinct role you have ordained to govern a group of people.We acknowledge, your Word compels us to be subject to every governing authority, for you instituted them.
But we are sinful people, Lord, and your kingdom is not immune from rebellion. We resist our leaders, we speak ill of their decisions, we gossip about their motives, we undermine their efforts. Forgive us for this, Lord.
Make our church flourish because godly people submit to godly leaders, Lord!

Even more, help us to follow your command to treat them with double honor, and to give them high esteem, because we know they are subject to your judgment. You are not a god of confusion, you are the God of order, some come and create order among us that it may go well with your Church.

Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
