Heavenly Father, I come to you today asking you to protect my church from gossip. Where our corrupt speech has caused division in the church, we are in need of your mercy and grace. Teach us to bridle our tongue and have mastery over it, that our lips may speak only life and healing to others.

Please pray aloud:
Heavenly Father, I come to you today asking you to protect my church from gossip.
Your Word tells us you hate gossip. That whispers to one person about the rumors and unconfirmed reports of another only spreads strife, quarreling, and division. You came to bring us peace, order, and unity, God. Gossip and its fruit are from the evil one, who came to steal, kill, and destroy.
Forgive us for the sin of gossip, Lord.

Forgive us for the sin of gossip, Lord. We have hated our brothers and sisters you commanded us to love by speaking with those who are neither part of the problem nor part of the solution. Our corrupt speech has caused division in the church you gave your life to save, and we are in need of your mercy and grace.
Just as you forgive us, Lord, help us to change. Teach us to bridle our tongue and have mastery over it, that our lips may speak only life and healing to others. Fill our conversation with words that are only good for building up. As your Word commands, may our speech give only grace to those who hear us!
