Heavenly Father, I come to you today asking you to fulfill your Word and always give my church shepherds who are men after your own heart, who will feed the church with knowledge and understanding. O God, let their never be a day when this church is without a shepherd!

Heavenly Father, I come to you today asking you to fulfill your Word and always give my church shepherds after your own heart.

Give us pastors who teach, rebuke, correct, and train us in righteousness with the heart of a prophet. Pastors who will care and intercede for us with the heart of a priest. Pastors who will lead and organize us with the heart of a king.

There have been many pastors before us, who were faithful ministers of the mysteries of Christ and stewards of your grace. They paved the way for my church to be all that it is today, thank you for their good and faithful service.

In the same way, I thank you for our current pastor. Continue to guide him by your Holy Spirit. Protect him with your holy angels from the attacks of the evil one. Refresh him with your power and your Word to serve the flock entrusted to them. Help us submit to them just as we submit to Christ, who is the Head of your Church. As your Word commends, keep them sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, gentle, peaceful, and free from the love of money.

Finally, God, I pray that you would always give us good and faithful pastors. In the years and generations to come, call pastors to serve at my church who are filled with your vision, your passion, and your love for your people. Bring us pastors who have a heart for the lost. Bring us servants who are devoted to prayer and preaching. Pastors with the heart of a prophet, a priest, and a king.

O God, let there never be a day my church is without a shepherd! Move, even now, years in advance, in lives and circumstances to ensure that my church will always be under the care of a faithful pastor.
