Please pray aloud:
Father in heaven, I come to you now praying for the perseverance and faithfulness of our church. Your Word implores us to not give up the habit of gathering in worship, but to gather all the more fervently and intentionally as we see the Last Day drawing near.
But in these Last Days, there are many activities and luxuries that distract us. Some may miss worship because of weekend activities like youth sports or a weekend at the lake. Others may miss worship because of a failure to plan, backsliding into a casual and lazy morning. Still others may refuse to gather because of outright anger or doubt or guilt for you or the church. Over time, the faith that once burned brightly grow lukewarm, and the love of many grow cold.
God, lead us not into temptation! Deliver us from this evil!
Even now, move by your Spirit and remind our people of the importance of gathering in worship to receive your gifts. Raise within our spirit a hunger and thirst for you and your righteousness. Move us out of any self-centered or temporal thinking. Make the things of this world grow strangely dim in the light of your glory and grace. Help us to see the value of what we can only receive as a community in weekly worship– your power, your gifts, your forgiveness, your hope. Rekindle our faith, O Lord!
Rekindle our faith, O Lord!

Focus our eyes straight ahead, on your house, and fix our gaze. Make us intentional to the paths of our feet, make us steadfast in all our ways, may we never waver to the right or left.
And when Sunday morning comes, Lord, meet us there in powerful ways! Let there be joy in your church. May our spirits rejoice in you, our God and Savior. Fill your house with your people, fill your people with your praise, fill your praise with your Spirit.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
