Please pray aloud:
God, your Word says it is good when your people dwell together in unity. So much so, your Son took time on the night of his betrayal to plead with you for unity among his followers.
So Lord, just as you are one, come and make your church one! Let the power of your cross destroy any dividing wall of hostility between us, that we may be– as your Word says– one new humanity in Jesus. Where we have wronged one another, let us confess our trespass. Where we confess, let us forgive as you’ve forgiven us. And where we are forgiven, may we rejoice in the bond of peace by your Spirit.
Lord, you are one, so come and make your church one!

May our unity not be a uniformity in appearance or temperament or class or generation. No, God, make our unity a confession of faith, a humility of mind and heart, a submission to You and your Word, a willingness let others serve as they are gifted, an eagerness to honor one another above ourselves.
Let our unity be so evident that when those outside the church see our diversity they marvel and exclaim “God is really among you!” Lord, you have one Church with one hope, one faith, and one baptism, so make us one, just you are one!
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
