Heavenly Father, as we come into your presence, make us aware of our sin. And then, Lord, as we confess our unworthiness to be in your presence, forgive and renew us. Make our spirits aware of your forgiveness and the enormity of your mercy and grace.
And then Lord, may your kindness indeed lead us to repentance. Stir your Spirit in the rebellious heart, the calloused heart, the judgmental heart. Conquer us, soften us, compel us. Move us to be convicted of our sin, to acknowledge our sin, to repent of our sin, and to bear fruit in keeping with repentance. Make this morning a morning of new life in your house!

After you pierce our hearts with your truth, God, comfort us with your gospel. Remind us of your mercy found in the perfect life, death, and resurrection of your Son in our place. Let your mercy and grace overwhelm us with a flood upon flood of compassion.
In response to your goodness, God, fill your people with an incomprehensible joy this morning. A joy like Zacchaeus that overwhelms our entire soul– body, mind, and spirit– a party in our spirit that results in lavish giving, in raucous singing, in newfound fellowship, and in evangelistic zeal. I pray we would follow the command in your Word and shout and move and clap our hands in praise this morning!
